Part of the 2013 Fall Fashion Gala, the costume shop partnered with innovative fashion designer Iris Van Herpen to create futuristic leotards, bodices and “tutus” from dozens of sculpted layers made from curved, charcoal-colored plastic. “Fashion is like ballet because they are both transforming and playing with the body” — Iris Van Herpen.
